What we do at the cover desk.

Because we sell, service and repair cars every day, we know which policy actually pays out when it matters. We compare across insurers and recommend the cover that fits your car and your driving, not the one with the highest commission.

Health, life, home and commercial covers sit on the same bench. Not tied to any one insurer, a panel of eleven, and claims handled by us — never by a call centre.

One desk. Eleven insurers. Real quotes.

Tell us about the car and when your current policy expires. The desk pulls comparative quotes from our panel, applies your NCB transfer, and sends a side-by-side comparison to your inbox — usually within one working day.

Cover for the two-wheeler.

Bike or scooter, new or renewal — the desk arranges the policy and helps you pick the right level of cover. Third-party is the legal minimum; comprehensive adds your own damage, theft and fire. Share the registration and we'll quote.

Keep the fleet covered.

From a single goods vehicle to a small fleet, we arrange commercial motor cover and track the renewals — so your vehicles stay on the road, permit-legal and earning. One point of contact for every registration.

Plans, side by side.

Before the numbers, it helps to see the shape of a motor quote — what each cover type actually includes. This is the anatomy; we fill in the real figures from our panel.

No two quotes sit the same. We drop the real figures from every insurer on our panel into exactly this shape — premium, IDV, add-ons, excess — so you choose on what's covered, not on whoever called first.

The add-ons that earn their keep.

Add-ons quietly stack onto a premium. Here's what each one actually does — and the honest line on when it's worth paying for. We'll tell you which to take for your car and which to skip.

№ 01

Zero-depreciation

No depreciation deducted on plastic, rubber and fibre parts at claim — you get the full part cost, not the written-down value.

Worth it when the car is in its first five years.

№ 02

Engine protection

Covers engine and gearbox damage that a standard policy won't — including water ingress and lubricant loss.

Worth it when you're in a flood-prone area or on rural roads.

№ 03

Roadside assistance

Towing, jump-start, flat-tyre help, fuel and lockout support — a phone call away when the car won't move.

Worth it when you drive long highways or an older car.

№ 04

Return-to-invoice

On a total loss or theft, pays back the car's invoice price rather than the lower depreciated IDV.

Worth it when the car is new — the first few years.

№ 05

NCB protection

Lets you make a claim without losing the no-claim discount you've built up over the years.

Worth it when you'd rather claim than surrender years of NCB.

№ 06

Consumables

Covers the small items a claim usually excludes — engine oil, coolant, nuts, bolts and washers.

Worth it when it's bundled cheaply alongside zero-dep.

Renew before it lapses.

A day's gap changes everything. Send us the existing policy and we'll handle the renewal — including where it pays to switch insurer for a better deal, without losing your no-claim bonus.

Before expiry

Renew in time

  • No-claim bonus carried over in full
  • No inspection — often issued same day
  • Not a single day without cover
Expiry day

The policy ends

  • Cover stops the moment it expires
  • Driving now means driving uninsured
After it lapses

It gets harder

  • Any loss in the gap is on you
  • The insurer may want the car inspected
  • Your no-claim discount can be lost

Not sure of your renewal window? Send the policy and the desk will check the exact date — and flag it before it slips.

Eleven insurers, one desk.

We place cover across eleven insurers rather than pushing one company's product — so you get a genuine choice of cover and price. Tell us the car and we'll point you to the insurer that suits it, not the one that suits us.

Claims, handled for you.

Cashless claims through our own workshop and partner garages. One call to Carecay, and we handle the surveyor, the paperwork and the repair.

  1. 01

    File a claim

Call us first. We'll tell you exactly what to photograph and submit, and lodge the claim with your insurer so nothing stalls on a missing form.

  2. 02

    Claim status

One point of contact for where your claim stands — surveyor, approval, repair and payout — so you're never chasing a call centre for an update.

  3. 03

    Cashless garage

Where your policy allows it, we handle the repair cashless at our workshop — so you settle only your share, not the whole bill up front.

What to keep handy.

Most cases need the same short list. Bring these and the desk can move fast — for the exact set for your situation, just ask.

For a new policy or renewal
  • Registration certificate (RC)
  • Previous or expiring policy — for NCB
  • Owner's ID & address (KYC)
  • Make, model, variant & year
  • Loan or hypothecation details, if any
For a claim
  • Policy number and the RC
  • Driving licence of the driver
  • Photos of the damage
  • FIR — for theft or a third-party claim
  • Repair estimate, if you have one

Insurance, in plain language.

The acronyms (IDV, NCB, OD, TP) trip almost everyone up. Short answers to the questions we hear most at the cover desk.

Third-party (TP): mandatory, covers damage you do to others — never to your own car. Own Damage (OD): optional, covers your car against accidents, theft, fire and natural disasters. Comprehensive: OD + TP bundled — the policy most owners actually want.

IDV (Insured Declared Value) is the maximum amount your insurer pays out in a total-loss claim. Higher IDV = higher premium, but also bigger payout. We help you pick an IDV that's honest to the car's real market value — neither over- nor under-insured.

Yes. No Claim Bonus is owner-linked, not insurer-linked. We pull your previous insurer's NCB certificate (or apply for it on your behalf) and apply the discount automatically — no break in continuity.

Zero-dep is worth it for the first five years of a car's life — it stops the insurer from deducting depreciation on plastic and rubber parts at claim. Engine protect matters in flood-prone cities and for cars driven on rural roads. Beyond that, most add-ons are optional.

By us — not a call centre. One phone call to our claim desk and we lodge the claim, help with the FIR where one is needed, coordinate the surveyor, take the car into our own workshop and chase the insurer for settlement — one point of contact throughout.

For a straightforward motor policy, the same day you choose — often while you're still at the desk. Health and home policies need a short proposal form and usually arrive within a working day or two.
